Washing your hands is important.
So is cleaning your devices !

Elevator buttons, handrails, gas pumps, door handles: It’s impossible to avoid germ-infested surfaces in our daily lives, which is why it’s essential to wash your hands thoroughly and regularly. But what good will that do if you’re using a bacteria-covered device?

To better protect yourselves, you should take the time necessary to disinfect the devices you use. However, there is a proper way to do so. Here are some helpful tips for effective device cleaning and for reducing the spread of germs.

What to do

Unplug and switch off your device before cleaning and disinfecting.

Remove any cases, covers, or other peripherals from the device–and clean those separately from your device.

Use a soft, lint-free, microfiber cloth (like the kind that you would use to clean the lens of a camera) or a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe to gently wipe the exterior surfaces of your device.

Disinfect all parts, even cradles, cords, and chargers.

What NOT to do

Don’t clean your device using cleaning products with harsh chemicals such as chlorine and bleach.

Don’t apply direct liquid cleaning solutions to your device, as they could cause damage.

Don’t submerge your device in any cleaning agents

Don’t clean your device with compressed air
